For almost 40 years, Emperador has worked side by side with different companies in the Spanish spirits sector. As part of the Philippine Alliance Global Group Holding, the family to which it has always being committed to Spanish brands such as brandy, sherry and spirits drinks, as well as to their exportation. For this reason, we have gradually incorporated several Brandy and Sherry producing wineries in Spain into our company which, together with their know-how and the high quality of their products, have enabled us to become a world reference, present in many countries/regions, especially in terms of premium category of Brandy brands production.
A Royal journey in the history of Brandy Fundador
Since the 19th century, Brandy Fundador has had a close relationship with Spanish Royalty. King Fernando VII, King Alfonso XIII, Queen Victoria Eugenia, Don Juan of Borbón, princess and princesses have toured the winery leaving their mark on the butts to through their signatures. Today, many of them contain the most exquisite liquids, such as the range of Brandy Ultra Premium Fundador Supremo.
H.M. King Fernando VII granted in his visit the use of the Royal seal on butts and its use in the labels on the bottles and H.M. King Alfonso XIII in 1874 signed one of the first Brandy Fundador’s butts.
This is a story of commitment to innovation
2013
Two years after its foundation, in 2013, it undertakes a major investment with the aim of increasing its presence in Spain. Thus, from January to September of that same year, it acquires several important Spanish wineries.

2015
November 2015, Emperador Distillers acquires Bodegas Fundador, with its famous vineyards, and incorporates emblematic brands such as Fundador, Terry or Harveys.
2017
2017 Finally, in January 2017, the group acquires the Espléndido brand.
Thanks to all this, Emperador Distillers becomes a group as we know it today.
